The printer is setup for wireless printing on the network, will print with the Windows supplied drivers If we point it to the IP of the printer, but it will not allow the software to install when we run through it. I have tried uninstalling all HP software from the computer, tried a reboot then reinstalled the software again with no luck. When it eventually seems to give up/time out, it states that the installation failed but doesn't seem to give an error at all, just a retry button, cancel button or help button. I have tried the HP print and scan doctor, with similar results on its attempt to reinstall things afterwards. This printer software installed fine on another computer, also on Windows 10, on the same network, so I know it is not the printer alone, or the network. I have a third computer on the network that the software seemed to install on, but it does not give access to all of the correct paper sizes and doesn't seem to see it to scan to either. The only other thing I can think of that both of the non installing PCs have in common is they are both Lenovo computers, and the one with no problems is a Dell. I then tried a clean reboot on the Windows 10 machine, did the Microsoft install helper you suggested, uninstalled with it, then tried the reinstall again, and again it hung on after selecting wireless printer setup and just said "installing Network Printer" for a very long time, then said "Unsuccessful network installation" and "the printer was unable to be installed over the network" like it always does...Any other suggestions? I have some information I pulled from a Belarc Advisor profile, if any of that will help, but at this point, I can't imagine what is stopping this from working. This document is for the HP Officejet 7610 and 7612 Wide Format e-All-in-One printers. This document explains how to set up the physical parts of the printer. Complete these steps before you install the printer software on your computer. Looking for the driver? If you did not already set up the hardware, follow the steps in this document to do so first. But, if you already installed the hardware and are just looking for the driver to download, go to the HP Software and Driver Downloads page. Setting up the printer Follow these steps in order. When you are finished, you can click the appropriate link at the end of this document if you need instructions to install the printer software. note Do not connect a USB cable now. If you plan to use a USB cable to connect the printer to the computer, you will be prompted to connect it at the correct time during the software installation. Step one Check the contents of the box The contents might vary by country/region. See the packaging for a list of items shipped in the box. Step two Unpack the printer Follow these steps to unpack the printer. Remove all tape and packing materials from outside the printer. Figure Remove packing materials from the outside of the printer Lift the printer scanning lid, and then remove all tape and packing materials inside. Lift the carriage access door, and then remove all tape and packing materials inside the printer. caution To avoid injury, make sure the carriage access door is fully raised before removing the tape and packing materials. Remove all tape and packing materials from the rear of the printer. Figure Remove packing materials from the rear of the printer Step three Install the printer trays Follow these steps to install the input tray extender and output tray. Line up the input tray extender with the input tray. Push the input tray extender onto the input tray until it is seated. Figure Install the output tray Step four Connect the power cord Turn the printer to access its rear side. Connect the power cord to the rear of the printer. Plug the power cord into the power supply. Slide out the paper width guides as far as possible. Insert a stack of clean, unused, plain paper into the input tray with the short edge forward and the print side down. caution Do not load paper while the printer is printing. Jams or paper feed issues might occur. Position the stack of paper in the center of the input tray, and then slide the stack forward until it stops. Adjust the paper width guides so that they rest against the stack of paper. Do not push the guides in so tightly that they bind against the paper. Figure Load the paper, and then adjust the paper width guides Load the paper Adjust the paper guides Lower the output tray, and then pull out the tray extender. Figure Lower the output tray, pull out the tray extender and then flip up the paper catch Pull out the output tray extender Flip up the paper catch Step seven Set the language and country/region Follow these steps to set the language and country/region. On the printer control panel, touch the Down Arrow until the desired language displays. Touch the desired language, and then touch Yes to accept the language setting. Step eight Install the cartridges Follow these steps to install the print cartridges. caution Failure to install the SETUP cartridges that came with the printer causes a cartridge error. Press the Power button to turn on the printer, if it is not already on. Lift the carriage access door, and then open the cartridge access door.
