Tafsir Ibnu Katsir: إِذۡ نَادَىٰهُ رَبُّهُۥ ("Tatkala Rabb-Nya memanggilnya") yakni Dia mengajaknya bicara seraya memanggilnya, بِٱلۡوَادِ ٱلۡمُقَدَّسِ طُوًى ("Di lembah suci, yaitu lembah Thuwaa") yakni nama sebuah lembah. Demikian menurut pendapat yang benar.
